The New Age Setting

I will be posting setting information here as it becomes available

The New Age refers to the World After The Visitor, what they called the planetoid that was on a collision course with earth, was destroyed and rained destruction and Change upon the Earth.

 

Unlike most of my Games I am setting this one in an exact time. this game begins when the Visitor Impacts the earth in the year 2028. Of course this is a Fictionalized version of our world but for the most part it is Identical to the one we live on.

 

I will probably have to make some assumptions about the four years between the real world and the fictional time start but I will only do so in specifics if need be.

 

The game at first will be set in North America where the brunt of the damage of impact occurs but rest assured the rest of the world has been affected as well some place even more so.

 

The beginning of the story takes place In two specific locations.

 

One is Cheyenne Mountain Space Command in Colorado. Where the Defense against the Visitor was led by NASA and USSC (United State Space Command).

 

And Shelly, Montana, our fictional  version of Shelby Montana where several other games were set and different versions of these characters existed. (Note that this is NOT the Shelly, from those games although many of the same events (the not weird parts) did occur, such as the characters early upbringing and life in Shelly. These characters are different versions and they are older.)

One of the biggest changes over the next five years is the beginnings of the MIcroTech Age (TL9).  Major advances occur in the material science, especially in the fabrication of nano-scale materials, the development of composite materials, and in polymer-based electronics. Many new and exciting innovations begin to be developed and some are even becoming wide spread before the Visitor.

 

In game terms this mean that TL8 gear is readily available and some TL9 gear is possible to obtain.

The Tesla Towers

 

When Dr Rivera needed away to implement her Defense of the earth she turned to an unproven technology for more than a century eelier.

 

In 1901 Nikola Tesla built what he claimed to be a Wireless Power Transmitter at  Shoreham, New York, called the Wardenclyffe Tower. Using the principles developed and theorized for wireless transmission using the earth as the conductor Rivera designed and created a version that could transmit and manipulated the X and C waves in the atmosphere.

 

In Honor of Tesla the new towers were called Tesla Towers. 

 

The Tesla Wave -  the Energy Backlash which sent a wave of unclassified energy across the globe when

the Towers collapsed during the Visitor Impact. It was this wave which made the dormant Adaptation genes active.
